WHO I AM

HI!

I am… the one on the right, obviously. Both in the flesh and in cartoon form, because yes, I am one of those people who takes themselves too seriously with their drawings.

The two quadrupeds you see here are my greatest loves. From left: Martina and Nando, my companions in life and disasters. There is no biography of mine that does not mention them. It is really a question of principle.

Having made the necessary premises, my name is Michela (but everyone calls me Ferrovia, because apparently my father registered me in the registry office giving me this as my third name).

I am a graphic designer, illustrator and cartoonist. Let's say I define myself as a broad-spectrum creative, like antibiotics, which do everything but in reality you never know what they really cure. I am from Rome, and after years of "wandering" in the capital, I now live in the countryside surrounding that great bubble of smog that is the eternal city. Aaah! The quiet of the countryside and the fresh air! How beautiful!

Yes, except that in the end it seems to me that I am surrounded by mosquitoes rather than trees.

You can't have it all.

My days are dedicated to creativity. Intellectual, like when I decided to “create” a blog (because every self-respecting creative has a blog, right?), but mostly, practical: I draw graphics, I do design, portraits and, last but not least, my comic (which seems more and more like a therapy to not go crazy).

Being an artist… well, it’s complicated. Because it’s not just a job, it’s a kind of extension of your soul. It’s something you have to fight every day, like a person you fight with. Sometimes it brings tears to your eyes, sometimes it makes you mad as hell, and then, as if by magic, it holds you close, making you feel like the most important person in the world. And all this, without even asking for a “thank you.”
